2010 Results and Photos

The Bob McClellan 5^th Annual Memorial Walleye Tournament was held this June.  Bob McClellan grew up in Manitowish Waters, attended high school at Lakeland Union, served his country through Navy service; and moved back to Manitowish Waters where he turned his passion for fishing into a career.  He was a guide who knew the lakes, and loved the fishing side of his life’s work as well as the “people side” his career afforded him.  

When Bob passed away suddenly in April 2006, friends and family decided to set up a memorial tournament in his honor.  The first Bob McClellan Memorial Tournament was in June 2006.  There has been wonderful community support for the event, from fellow fishermen and women to business sponsorship and support.  As a result, the committee is able to give proceeds from the tournament to various community organizations. 

This year, the North Lakeland Discovery Center was fortunate to be a donation recipient.  The committee, comprised of Carol McClellan and Bob King, Tom and Barb Kramer, Rick and Stephanie McClellan, Randy McClellan and Whitney Hunt, Bill Magee, and Chuck Kramer and Teresa Umbach, awarded the Discovery Center a collection of supplies to encourage youth fishing.  Included in the donation were:  8 reels, 8 youth rod/reel combos, 2 fishing nets, and a tackle box filled with the “necessities.”  We have set up a lakefront aquatics classroom, housing all of these items, and more.
